As we approach the shortest day, darkness seems to take over. You can see why twinkling lights have taken off as a means to cheer up the gloom in the northern hemisphere. It's important not to let our spirits dip with the fading of the light, because it's all too easy to feel despairing at this time of the year. Especially with the silly pressures we mount on ourselves in regards a certain festival which is now not to far away.
I love this quote - for me it's about persevering thru the darkness whether it's physical winter or a metaphysical one. There is real hope that in this despairing blackness, we can find the inner strength of character to glow with summers rays. Not just to find the light switch, but to blaze in the glory of an 'invincible' summers day. The kind that you dream will never end, the sort that makes the every day seem other worldly. So take a piece of this optimism with you in what challenges you face this week. Know there is an inner strength that no darkness can consume - shine as bright as the sun!
