This week I attended a maker's lecture by Phoebe Cummings at the Exchange Gallery in Penzance. She is an internationally acclaimed artist working with unfired clay and was the inaugural winner of the BBC Radio 4 Women's Hour Craft Prize this year. I particularly like her organic pieces and the way she lets water decay them, so that nothing remains but their fleeting beauty as cut flowers would be.
