Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens

I love going to new places and that is indeed what holidays are for and I enjoy even more when those new places are right on my doorstep it makes you look again at what is familiar.

Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens is a major new garden and arts attraction near Penzance in Cornwall. A beautiful sheltered valley in west Cornwall, surrounded by woods, streams and dramatic vista provides the perfect setting for this 22-acre exotic and sub-tropical garden. The dramatic gardens provide the backdrop to contemplative and inspiring art. International renowned artists such as James Turrell and David Nash RA have interacted with the garden to create site-specific permanent works, all harmonising with their garden setting.
I particularly loved the restless sculpture by Penny Saunders and the views the site afforded to St Michael's Mount.

However, my stand out favourite was the meditative Tewlwolow Kernow an elliptical domed chamber which James Turrell has designed as a space from which to view the sky, so relaxing and what if that are holidays for (lunch wasn't bad either).
