Renewal Day is a day of new, old and beginnings

4th May was Renewal Day a day of new, old and beginnings.

Things get old and out of sorts. We lose touch with friends, loved ones, and relationships. For whatever reason, we "let "it" go. Well, whatever "it" is, today is the day to renew it, rejuvenate it, and bring the spark back into it.

On the strength of that I decided to light 108 candles. Having just done my fire warden training at work I thought 3 sets of 36 candles might be the safest way to go on this one, loosely thought of as representing my past, present and future.

Why 108 candles?

Some say there are 108 feelings, with 36 related to the past, 36 related to the present, and 36 related to the future. There are also said to be 108 earthly desires in mortals, and 108 lies that humans tell.

The diameter of the Sun is 108 times the diameter of the Earth. The distance from the Sun to the Earth is 108 times the diameter of the Sun. The average distance of the Moon from the Earth is 108 times the diameter of the Moon.
